Away from It All. Close to the Heart.

Spruce Point Inn is like no other resort—spirited and soulful; picturesque and rich with heritage; perfectly poised between woods and sea. As a Conde Nast Top 25 Northeast Resort, our historic inn has attracted travelers from all over the world for more than a century offering an iconic coastal Maine experience.

Located about an hour "down east" from Portland, Spruce Point Inn is a gem among Maine resorts, differentiated from other oceanfront properties by the acres of woodland, gardens and trails. As we sit “off the beaten path,” getaways here feel like a genuine retreat. It’s a place made timeless by its guarantee of tradition and joy.

The rich variety of offerings—from thoughtful amenities and something-for-everyone activities, from delightful food and spirits to abundant accommodation styles— connect our guests to this very special place—and to one another—making memories, season after season.

A COVID-19 Update from Spruce Point Inn

Skip A COVID-19 Update from Spruce Point Inn

These are extraordinary times for us all and we hope you are well. As we watch the COVID-19 pandemic sweep across the globe, we worry about friends near and far, especially from the perspective of the hospitality industry, built on bringing the world together, not keeping us apart. At Spruce Point Inn, our priority, as always, is doing what’s best for our guests, our colleagues and our team. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to delay the Spruce Point Inn seasonal opening day until Thursday, June 4, 2020. For those with existing reservations affected by this delay, our team will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

At this time, we have availability and are now accepting new reservations for arrivals beginning June 4, 2020. We will continue to assess the situation and the guidelines set forth by the CDC, the local health department and Maine’s Governor daily. The health, safety, and security of our visitors and employees remain paramount and we are taking extra steps to ensure a safe, secure and serene environment. As we realize it may be needed now more than ever, we will be ready to greet you with the same warmth, care, and beauty Spruce Point Inn has been known for, for over 100 years.

This storm too will pass. If we’ve learned anything from this granite coast of Maine, it’s that we endure. And that light always returns to the Dawnland. The friends and family we have been fortunate to gather around Spruce Point Inn are our treasures. Please keep yourself safe and healthy until we see you again. I speak for the entire team at Spruce Point Inn when I say we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Blue skies,

Gil Hartman

We promise a welcome that’s warm, with plenty to do, or not do, depending on your mood. Moments of liveliness and peaceful occasions, and the freedom to just be yourself. (it’s vacation after all...)

We promise great places to dine, play, and celebrate—whether you’re dressed in your best or your most comfy casuals. We promise to show you that we’ve never forgotten the meaning of true hospitality, or the importance of the personal touch.

And because we promise you all of the above, we promise you’ll want to come back.

Steeped in heritage, we invite friends old and new to become part of our story and forge new traditions with us.
