Hit the Road & Take A Trip...

Discover the Classic American Joy of a "Golden Season" Road Trip to Coastal Maine.

Inn-siders know that September and October are the golden months on Maine's Midcoast. The leaves of the oaks and maples seem to glow against the deep green velvet of the spruces and the blue-grey of the still-warm sea. The sun is an inviting presence as the cool winds of autumn dance in from the ocean. With such perfect days, less crowds and the cozy fall flavors, it's no wonder "The Golden Season" is a favorite time of year for many.

Just a short drive, Spruce Point Inn is the perfect destination for a refreshing couple’s getaway or a fun-filled family road trip. And with road trips, the journey is part of the experience! Here along the Maine coast, a classic road trip along Route 1 and its byways links iconic sights from Portland Head Light to Acadia National Park. With Route 1 as the thread leading to Boothbay Harbor, you’ll pass through “Maine’s prettiest town” of Wiscasset, and a bird’s-eye view of Bath Iron Works (a shipbuilding backbone of the Navy).
